Install the hub software

Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a computer. Safari and phones can't do this step.

  1. Plug the hub board into this computer with a USB-C data cable.
  2. Click Install below.
  3. In the list that appears, pick the entry containing CP2102, USB to UART or usbserial, then click Connect.
  4. Click Install CellarGuard Hub and wait about a minute until it says it's finished.

This browser can't install the hub. Please open this page in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a computer. This page must be opened over https.

If nothing appears in the list, the cable is probably charge-only. Try a cable that syncs a phone. If it stalls at "Connecting", hold the board's BOOT button while you click Install.

Then connect it to Wi-Fi

  1. The hub's blue light blinks fast. On your phone, open Wi-Fi settings and join CellarGuard-xxxxxx (password: on the hub label; a new hub uses cellarguard).
  2. A setup page opens. Tap Configure WiFi, choose the cellar's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and enter its password.
  3. Enter the Gateway password. Leave the CellarGuard address as it is. At the shop, also type a New setup password (8 or more characters) and write it on the hub label next to its CG-H- number. Tap Save.
  4. Within a minute the blue light turns solid: the hub is sending to CellarGuard.

From software 1.0.5 a hub updates itself over Wi-Fi when CellarGuard releases a new version, so this cable install is only needed once.

Light guide: fast blink = waiting for setup (or wrong gateway password) · slow blink = connecting · solid = working. To change the Wi-Fi, hold the BOOT button until the light blinks fast (5 seconds), then let go: setup reopens for 3 minutes, and the hub keeps its old Wi-Fi if you don't save a new one.
